Born and raised in District 5

Liz grew up in South Austin, went to school here, and never left. She has watched District 5 change block by block — the traffic, the tax bills, the response times, the neighbors priced out. She is not running to discover the district. She is running because she already knows it.

A master electrician, not a career politician

She earned her master electrician license the hard way: apprenticeship, journeyman hours, and code books. That trade teaches three habits Austin's budget process badly needs — read the plan, respect the code, and never leave a job half-finished.

Why Liz Brink is running

District 5 is not a stepping stone for Liz Brink — it is home, and it always has been. She is running for Austin City Council because she has watched this city coast on its reputation while the basics slipped: slower response times, higher tax bills, roads and drainage that never quite get fixed. Her bet is simple — District 5 voters want a council member who shows up, reads the fine print, and treats the city's money like it came out of their own paycheck. Because it did.
